Sarah’s list:
I joined a CSA this year and get and assortment of meats each month. I pay a premium, but whereas fancy clothes are important to some, quality, humane, healthy-for-all food is important to me. Their site is really new, in beta and can be quirky. http://www.theforagers.com/summary.php?go=products#60170249e6ce
We drink hemp milk and have for years. As my daughter got out of the infant stage, it’s all she would drink if there was no mommy-milk around. It is of course not formula replacement, but it is an exceptionally healthy beverage for young and old alike. Maybe try it one day…http://www.worldpantry.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce/ExecMacro/livingharvest/home.d2w/report
Of course I can’t have two kids who drink the same beverage so I buy raw Jersey milk (Jennifer turned me on to it) for the boy and me since it doesn’t make me sick. http://claravaledairy.com/
Jennifer and I both loveĀ http://smittenkitchen.com/ her photos are fabulous.
Blackbird bakery has a beautiful and very cool blog http://blackbird-bakery.com/
She has some beautiful recipes and a great blog…http://www.101cookbooks.com/index.html
Jennifer’s list:
Chow.com is an excellent resource for recipes, and the chowhounds are always up for restaurant recommendations for any city you find yourself in.
Michael Ruhlman will change your life, at least the part spent in the kitchen.
Not sure how much longerĀ Gourmet will be around, so enjoy it while you can.
If you watch Food Network then you already know their site is a good place to find recipes. If you haven’t read Anthony Bourdain’s take on the whole thing, you’re in for a treat.
And thanks to Endless Simmer and SippitySup for noticing.
